感官民族誌實驗室（Sensory Ethnography Lab）於2006年由哈佛大學人類學系和藝術系共同創辦，通過研究感官、美學和人類學層面，徹底革新了非虛構電影的形式。他們以實驗手法，巧妙地將社會科學、自然科學，以及類比與數碼媒體藝術融合，從而創造出沉浸式的觀影經驗。在這些作品中，聲音和影像如同地震儀，細緻地捕捉人類、動物、靈魂和機器共同棲身的世界——不管是具象的抑或從體驗的角度。本年度影展很高興能在此次焦點節目中展示來自感官民族誌實驗室的兩部作品 ——《莉維達．地海之詩》（Leviathan）及《人體萬花胴》（De Humani Corporis Fabrica）。
The Sensory Ethnography Lab, established in 2006 through a collaboration between Harvard's anthropology and arts departments, has revolutionized nonfiction cinema by exploring novel sensory, aesthetic, and anthropological dimensions. Its immersive, kaleidoscopic documentaries intricately blend social and natural sciences with both analog and digital media art. In these films, sound and image function as seismographs, meticulously capturing the physical and experiential world shared by humans, animals, spirits, and machines. We are delighted to showcase two films from SEL—"Leviathan" and "De Humani Corporis Fabrica"—in our spotlight program.
開幕電影：莉維達．地海之詩 Opening Film: Leviathan
簡介 Synopsis:
啟發自梅爾維爾的名著小說《白鯨記》，《莉維達．地海之詩》記錄了人類、自然與機器之間的激烈交鋒。影片以多部迷你攝影機GoPro，由漁民與電影工作者在北美黑暗的海域底拖網漁船上輪流拍攝，呈現出一場沉浸式、挑戰觀感的勞動研究。
影片既探討紀錄片的拍攝方式，也關注漁業的政治與生態問題，同時展現漁民與他們捕獲的魚的不同視角。作品結合人類學傳統、航海神話，以及電影的感官潛力，捕捉海洋的力量與壯麗之美。
In the treacherous waters where Herman Melville’s whale ship gave chase to Moby-Dick, Leviathan captures the collaborative clash of man, nature, and machine. Shot with an array of miniature cameras passed from fishermen to filmmakers on a ground fish trawler in the dark North American Sea, “Leviathan” isis an immersive and provocative study of labour. Equally addressing the conventions of documentary practice and the political and ecological issues of the fishing industry, the film gives free reign to the perspectives of both fishermen and their catch. The film explores traditions of anthropology, seafaring myths and the sensory potential of cinema, to capture the power and awesome beauty of the ocean.

簡介 Synopsis:
五個世紀前，解剖學家安德烈·維薩里（André Vésale）首次將人體開放給科學研究。如今，《人體萬花胴》在電影鏡頭下呈現人體，揭示了皮膚底下的奇異景觀。這片景觀無法自我觀察，卻透過他者的凝視與手術影像而呈現。

Five centuries ago, anatomist Andreas Vesalius opened up the human body to science for the first time in history. Today, De Humani Corporis Fabrica opens the human body to the cinema. It reveals that human flesh is an extraordinary landscape that exists only through the gaze and attention of others. As places of care, suffering and hope, hospitals are laboratories that connect everybody in the world.
